Actually china is becoming more modern day by day since the olympics are being held at Beijing in 2008. I stayed at a hotel in China. It was average. It wasn't dirty or anything. It was prettty good! If you go to ShangHai then you'll DEFINATELY find a super nice hotel there. If your going to a modernized part of China you’ll definately get a hotel with a toilet. The hotels that I have stayed in a are just like the ones in the US, some even better. They have the usual, Holiday Inn, Weston, Hampton etc...it really depends on your companies travel expense allowance. The food in these hotels is perfectly good to eat without fear of getting ill. The toilets are the same as the US, however go on the plane because the airport bathrooms are holes in the ground. If you chose to stay in a very local hotel, it might be different but the hotels that I have mention do have TP and every thing you would need.
